yup I injured myself two weeks ago on the shops band saw. nope, not by cutting myself, by having a finger tip crushed by one of the hydraulic clamps.

I was given a rush job to cut up same length parts so i set up the material stop so I didn’t have to measure each time. as I was holding the material tight to the stop I hit the wrong switch. I closed the front clamp that is just behind the blade cut path. and I found out real quick my ring finger was in the wrong place. good thing I had gloves on this time. it kept me from pulling away after it already clamped down all the way .  when I pulled my hand out ofthe glove I saw the end was blown off hanging by a small amout of skin. so off to the hospital i went. again the numbing injections hurt worse the the injury. watched some episodes of “the Outer Limits” and “MAD tv” as I waited. then I got 11 stitches, 3 going through the nail. here are some pictures I just took of the finger. the previous photo’s sucked which is why I’m only posting now about it
