this is the small mold that has both parts of the violet pot together in one mold
this is the slip used for ceramics. as long as it doesn’t set up completely the slip can be reused constantly by adding water to thin it back down to workable consistancy
now here is the complex part of the process. pouring the mold. if you notice, there is a 1 inch rim at the top. this is because as the slip dries in the mold the slip level will drops as the water is drawn into the mold. the rim allows you to leave it till it is time to drain without the slip level to drop into the finished part causing a thin wall at the top that can break or cave in.
topping off periodically is needed with certain molds, specifically ones with small fill ports.
after it has set long enough for the desired wall thickness the slip is drained back into the bucket to be used again later on another mold (these molds take about 20 minutes for 1/8″ to 3/16″ thick walls)
next the mold is placed upside down to drain out and dry for about an hour so it will be firm enough to take the cover off.
I messed up on transferring the rest of the pics so the other steps will have to wait till later in the week, typically you can only pour once a day to every other day so the mold has time to dry out to use again
