It is in, yay. after trimming the bottom lip allowed the window to drop down enough to be rotated into position. plus the trim covers were I had to cut the window so it could fit. all I have to do is mount the trim, caulk and paint and it is finished. so all is right with the world again
Windows Suck Thursday, Oct 18 2007
my day 3:34 am
Granted there have been times I have stated this about the OS, But this is about an actual window I am Trying to replace.
I have been helping my parents with a Project house as well as helping complete there shed. performing roofing, mixing thirty some odd bags of cement and rough carpentry to list a few. When they ordered custom sized windows for the project house they measured for one to go in my house. the project house windows were snug but I made them fit with a little leverage. lets just say fastening these in could be considered optional.
then we come to my window. these were measured to fit in the existing casing which has the base of the frame at a slope for water drainage. the width was perfect, the height was about 1/4″ too big. so I trimmed a little off the top lip going in to make room. It was still snug so I pushed it in. this was going good till it stopped going in. I felt up top to find the Lip on the replacement window popped into a groove where the old framing was and is now stuck not going in or out. so i am done messing with that today before I break either the window or a blood vessel
If I survive this I will post back on what happened in round 2
